15 month check-up
Ava & Audrey at 1 year of age!
Audrey & Ava had their 15 month check-up today and I was a little surprised by their stats!!
Audrey weighs 21 pounds 11 oz. , her head circumfrence is 46 in. and she's 32 inches long.
This puts her in the 50th percentile for height, the 25th for head circumfrence, and the 90th percentile for length.
Ava weighs 18 pounds 10 oz., her head circumfrence is 45 inches and she measures 32 inches long too.
This puts her in the same percentile as Audrey for both head circumfrence and height. This is the first time they have EVER measured the same length!! Audrey has always been an inch or so longer.
As for weight, Ava has dropped off the charts again. I am so dicouraged. I worked soooo hard to get her into the 3rd, and then the 5th, and finally the 7th percentile.
I went back and checked in my dayplanner and Ava weighed 17 pounds 15 oz. and was in the 7th percentile for weight at her 12 mo. check-up (Audrey weighed 19 pounds 4 oz 25%). This means that Ava has gained LESS than 1 pounds in over 3 months!!!! This also puts them back at a 3 pound weight difference. The last time they had this much of a difference, we were fighting a feeding tube for Ava. The doctor told us to start adding Carnation Instant Breakfast to her milk and to come back in for a weight check in 6 weeks.
We also got a referral to see the ENT for Ava. Her sleep apnea has begun to get worse and I think she may need her tonsils and adenoids out now too! She is starting to toss and turn and really work to open her airway at night. Poor thing!
The girls had their DTaP immunization today and will go back in at 18 months for another check-up and thankfully their last immunization for awhile!!!!
I am still waiting for a Ma-ma or Da-da from them, but Audrey will sometimes say "tu-tu" when you hand her things (her own way of saying "thank-you") and yes when you ask her if she wants something. Ava said cheese the other day. It sounds like "CH" and "ssss" in the quietest whisper. Now whenever Ava wants something she will say Chssss. Almost like two very distinct and seperate sounds.

WOW! The girls are getting so big! Don't be discouraged, Molly didn't gain any weight from her 12 mo-15mo well checks...not that it makes you feel better! I'm sorry! Sent you a msg on babycenter re: molly's re check today..it was fun!
IT sounds like their speech is doing well! our Pedi said usually one word at this age is really good. ours can say mama dada, but they don't usually say it TO us.
Boy I know your dissapointment with weight. I was hoping Celia would be at 19 lbs. I fed her lots the day or so before, but of course she had to poop a ton right before we left. lol
From these pictures they really don't look too far off in weight Jen. I know it is worrisome though when they are not "on track" like the other. Hopefully some day you will have Ava eating you out of house and home (I'm thinking ahead to the teenage years :)). I hope all goes well at the ENT, I can't imagine how hard it is to sleep comfortably at night.
